Using heat, hammers, and the power of the forge, you'll transform steel into a spooky skull bottle opener while learning the fundamentals of blacksmithing, including hammer control, shaping, and texturing hot metal. Leave with a handcrafted bottle opener that's equal parts creepy and functional—and memories that will last long after Halloween has passed.
This class is priced per couple (2 students) and includes all safety equipment, tools, & materials. No experience needed.
Joe Schmitz has been a blacksmith for over 10 years and has been teaching at Rochester Arc + Flame Center since 2017. He’s always working on metal in some variety, whether it be forging Damascus knives, fixing up armor, or working on ornamental pieces. Alongside blacksmithing, Joe has also earned many certifications in welding and does aluminum brazing at a local manufacturing plant in Rochester.
