







Blacksmithing Couples Date Night: Bottle Opener | Saturday, July 11th | 6:00PM - 10:00PM
Join us for one of the hottest date nights in town, perfect for partners, friends, or family, where you’re guaranteed to strike sparks and ignite some fun! Using heat and hammers, you’ll shape and forge your very own handmade bottle openers from steel. Along the way, you’ll practice hammer control, add texture, and sculpt glowing metal into a functional, stylish tool. By the end of class, you’ll walk away with a unique hand-forged project, perfect for your next round of drinks!
This class is priced per couple (2 students) and includes all safety equipment, tools, & materials. No experience needed.
Joe Schmitz has been a blacksmith for over 10 years and has been teaching at Rochester Arc + Flame Center since 2017. He’s always working on metal in some variety, whether it be forging Damascus knives, fixing up armor, or working on ornamental pieces. Alongside blacksmithing, Joe has also earned many certifications in welding and does aluminum brazing at a local manufacturing plant in Rochester.
