Students must be at least 16 years of age to participate in most courses and must have a signed waiver by a parent or legal guardian prior to the start of the class.

For students ages 13 – 15 years old, please contact us at 585-349-7110 to discuss class opportunities.

Most courses are not appropriate for students ages 12 years old and younger.

Attire Policy Attire Policy

Boots or leather shoes that cover the entire foot
Full length jeans that cover the entire leg and ankle (no rips or holes)
T-shirt (cotton or nonflammable material)

No refunds or credits are provided to students who cancel within 48 hours of their class or who are a no call/ no show
14 or more days’ notice of the class date: Option of a refund (minus a $20 processing fee) or class credit for the full amount
2 – 13 days’ notice of the class date: Class credit for the full amount
Less than 2 days’ notice of the class date: No refund and no class credit

Glass Beadmaking Sampler

The Rochester Arc + Flame Center’s Glass Bead Sampler is the perfect class to learn how to make glass beads or improve your technique. Working with soft glass and flame, you will learn skills such as how to light a torch, adjust a flame, stretch, gather, cut, & fuse soft glass rods into beautiful designs. Each student will make at least 5 beads that will be added to a keepsake. Choose from a wide variety of colors, add textures, and let your creativity melt into your artwork.

Our experienced instructors will use a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on instruction to enhance your learning experience. This class is great for beginners and experienced flame workers!

All safety equipment, tools, and glass materials are included in the course price.

Note: Because glass pieces must be annealed to avoid damage, class projects will be ready for pickup approximately 1 week after the class.
