Get ready to heat things up! In this fun and exciting date night, you’ll step into the forge and create your own rustic metal candle holder. You’ll learn the basics of working with hot steel, including heating, hammering, shaping, and adding texture to your piece. No experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and get ready to make something unique and useful. Perfect for couples, friends, or family, this hands-on experience is a fun way to spend time together while making a keepsake you’ll be proud to take home!

Joe Schmitz has been a blacksmith for over 10 years and has been teaching at Rochester Arc + Flame Center since 2017. He’s always working on metal in some variety, whether it be forging Damascus knives, fixing up armor, or working on ornamental pieces. Alongside blacksmithing, Joe has also earned many certifications in welding and does aluminum brazing at a local manufacturing plant in Rochester.
