Students must be at least 16 years of age to participate in most courses and must have a signed waiver by a parent or legal guardian prior to the start of the class.

For students ages 13 – 15 years old, please contact us at 585-349-7110 to discuss class opportunities.

Most courses are not appropriate for students ages 12 years old and younger.

Attire Policy Attire Policy

Boots or leather shoes that cover the entire foot
Full length jeans that cover the entire leg and ankle
T-shirt (cotton or nonflammable material)

No refunds or credits are provided to students who cancel within 48 hours of their class or who are a no call/ no show
14 or more days’ notice of the class date: Option of a refund (minus a $20 processing fee) or class credit for the full amount
2 – 13 days’ notice of the class date: Class credit for the full amount
Less than 2 days’ notice of the class date: No refund and no class credit

Glass Flameworking Workshop

The Rochester Arc + Flame Center’s Glass Flame Workshop is the perfect class to express your creativity through glass art. Working with borosilicate glass and flame, you will learn skills such as lighting the torch, adjusting the flame, stretching, gathering, cutting, & fusing boro glass rods into beautiful designs. A wide range of color options are available for you to experiment with. Each student can make up to 5 glass pieces including a tear drop, heart, & leaf.

Our experienced instructors will use a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on instruction to enhance your learning experience. This class is great for beginners and experienced flame workers!

All safety equipment, tools, and glass materials are included in the course price.

NOTE:

Because glass peices must anneal to avoid damage, class projects will be ready for pickup within 1 week after the class.
Breakfast snacks and lunch will be provided. Please contact the Arc + Flame Center at least 72-hours prior to the event regarding any food allergies or restrictions.
