Glass Flameworking Night Course Level 1

Welcome to the Arc + Flame Center’s Glass Flameworking Level 1 Night Course! This is a more in-depth beginner level class that will immerse you in the art of borosilicate (boro) glass work.

Our Level 1 Night Course is designed to give you a solid foundation of skills which you can build upon. We will start with the basics learning how to cut glass; fuse glass together; draw down or build up glass to a desired diameter; build and maintain a gather on the end of a rod; and effectively use a cold seal or punty.

These skills will be applied to create a variety of items for you to keep. Starting with basic forms such as the teardrop and heart, students will progress to more advanced forms such as fish and hummingbirds, creating over a dozen projects throughout this 4-week course.

After successful completion of this Level 1 program, you will be able to continue your journey here at Arc + Flame, advancing your skills to a level that will allow you to work independently during our open torch hours or join us in our Level 2 Night Course.

Our experienced instructors will use a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on instruction to enhance your learning experience.

All safety equipment, tools, and glass materials are included in the price.

NOTE: Because glass pieces must anneal to avoid damage, projects will be available for pickup at the following class time.
