Available Role: Teacher's Assistant (All Departments)

Description/Duties:

Employee will start in teacher’s assistant role to support the lead instructors. Teacher’s assistants will take a series of classes to learn standard Arc + Flame teaching procedures. From here, teaching assistants will work alongside lead instructors to facilitate classes on weeknights and weekends. Based on experience, teaching assistants will have the opportunity to train toward a lead instructor role.

Requirements:

Must be highly motivated and enthusiastic to deliver a positive and entertaining experience for students

Must have a positive and welcoming attitude toward other faculty, students, and customers

Must have confidence with public speaking in small groups and strong interpersonal communication

Must have reliable transportation and adhere to all commitments of scheduled classes

Must have flexibility to work scheduled classes on weeknights and weekends

Ability to lift 40lbs, stand for 8-hours and sustain 4-8 hours of speaking to a class

Experience with welding, glass, metalsmithing/forging or jewelry

Compensation/ Time Commitment:

Classes are scheduled throughout the month and take place on weekdays, weeknights and weekends. Some months, an instructor could teach a class each week and others none.

Frequency of class assignments will be adjusted based on instructor’s availability and quality of instruction.
