Get ready for some Apocalyptic forged fashion!

Come out and forge something wearable! The workshop will focus on forging organic symmetrical forms that fit on the body. This class will be directed toward individuals’ designs. Forge something to fit your neck or chest. Ellen will have sample pieces available and will be demonstrating various organic based forms. Feel free to contact Ellen ahead of time with questions. Don’t worry we wont be hot fitting anything!

This class focuses on wearable, organic shapes forged from steel or formed from sheet. Please direct your excitement along these lines.

Ellen Durkan is an adjunct professor at Delaware College of Art & Design and also travels around teaching Blacksmith workshops. Ellen is the owner of Iron Maiden Forge, a growing and evolving business. Recently Ellen continues to work on her "forged fashion" series and is involved with Man at Arms Reforged. She is working on commissions while still teaching online with Delaware College of Art and Design.

Ellen’s work has been featured in dozens of galleries and runway shows and in the magazine of blacksmiths, the Anvil’s Ring.

Workshop Schedule:

  • July 2021 Session: Monday, July 12th, 2021 through Friday, July 16th 2021 (9am-5pm each day)

Class Details: 
  • Experience: Open to all levels
  • Enrollment: 3 to 10 students
  • All materials and safety equipment included
  • Breakfast snacks included
  • There will be a 1-hour lunch break each day.
  • Complimentary coffee available and vending machines
  • This is a week long class with full days in the shop. Evening open shop time may be available at the instructor's discretion.
