Wrought Iron Stake Anvil

A pair of blacksmithing masters, Thomas Latane and Timothy Miller, will lead a class on forging a wrought iron stake anvil. A true wrought iron body will be forged and topped with forge welded steel plate. All material is included. Students should be comfortable with forge welding and striking for each other will be required. This will be an exciting class with great photo ops and will be a great way to cap off a trip to the ABANA 2020 conference in Saratoga Springs the weekend prior.

**Students must be proficient in forge welding and coal forge operation.

NOTE: Blacksmithing Classes are very interactive and involve significant physical activity. Please make sure to wear close-toed sneakers or boots, jeans and a cotton t-shirt. Do NOT wear flip-flops, open toed shoes or highly flammable clothing. Workshop Schedule:

  • June 2020 Session: Monday, June 8th through Friday, June 12th, 2020 (9am-5pm each day): $995

Class Details: 

  • Enrollment: 3 to 12 students
  • All materials and safety equipment included
  • Experience: Students must be proficient in forge welding and coal forge operation.
  • Breakfast snacks included
  • Lunch for all 5 days is available for an additional $65 (must be purchased at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the class). For those who wish to provide their own lunch a refrigerator and microwave will be available in the shop.
  • Complimentary coffee available and vending machines
  • This is a week long class with full days in the shop. Evening open shop time may be available at the instructor's discretion.
