Forge your own fashion! All levels welcome, class will be focused on forging organic shapes and designing them to be wearable. You can design and make a bracelet, necklace, headpiece or maybe you want your own bustier; come with ideas or sort it out as you forge. Don't worry, we won’t be hot fitting anyone into wearable pieces! Adding leather to your designs will be an option as well. So come out and forge!
“I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware--the oldest of nine children. It didn’t take a village to raise us, we were a village. I figure, my parents kept hoping that they’d produce an astrophysicist or engineer, but thus far our clan consists of artists and musicians. I like to believe that I started that trend.
I am an adjunct professor at Delaware College of Art & Design and I also travel around and teach Blacksmith workshops. I have my own business, Iron Maiden Forge, which is growing and evolving. Recently i have been working on my "forged fashion" series and presenting it though runway shows and performances pieces. I also have a jewelry line so my work is more accessible to the public, because not everyone is in need of a metal corset.”
Ellen’s work has been featured in dozens of galleries and runway shows and in the magazine of blacksmiths, the Anvil’s Ring™.
