All classes next week (4/6- 4/12) are cancelled. Students will be contacted. We're taking things week-by-week to determine classes 4/13 and beyond! Based on COVID-19 developments both locally and across the country, Arc + Flame has suspended all regularly scheduled classes for [Samplers/Workshops/Date Nights/Night Courses] welding, glass, smithing, and jewelry until further notice. Each student will be contacted to discuss rescheduling options or a refund. MCC Welding & Fabrication Program will be working remotely until further notice. Once the pandemic situation has cleared, we will offer multiple options for you to take the class you were scheduled for. We appreciate your consideration and understanding as we follow guidelines from the CDC and advice from the medical community to keep our faculty, students, and fellow citizens safe.

Project Descriptions:

  • Rose: Come create a beautiful piece of art to decorate your home or give as a gift to someone you care about. This project focuses on learning hammer control through applied texture. Students will also get to express their creative side while forming the individual petals into a cohesive flower. (Open to all levels)
  • Ribbon Candle Holder: Learn to create a candle holder out of metal by hot forging. The class will go over the basic operations of creating a fishtail finial and scrolling it. They will also create a cup for the candle and rivet the pieces together. (Open to all levels)

  • Yard Stakes: Project details will be available soon! Check our website often for all the latest updates and class info!
  • Grill Tools: Learn to create a set of handy grilling tools out of metal by hot forging. The class will go over the basic operations of creating a grilling fork and steak turner. Students will start with the handle ends by creating a hook to hang the tools with and add a decorative twist. Then they will complete the working ends by using the appropriate techniques for each tool. NOTE: This is a very physically and mentally demanding class and not all students will be able to complete both tools during this class so pick the one you want most to start with. (Open to all levels)

  • Goblin: Project details will be available soon! Check our website often for all the latest updates and class info!
  • Tree Hook: Learn the most utilized blacksmithing techniques of tapering and bending while making a decorative holiday hook to hang your hat on! Well you could really hang anything. The focus of the sampler will be on manipulating the metal to create a pine tree shape. (Open to all levels)

Looking for a way to heat up your relationship or just do something outrageously cool? Tired of the same old dinner, bar or movie? Bring your loved one or buddy out to Arc + Flame for a fun evening in our blacksmith shop. We provide everything: entertaining instructors, light snacks, beverages and all the materials necessary to make a beautiful finished project with your partner. Projects vary by date so be sure to check the listing. The cost covers one couple (2 people) for the price of $180.

NOTE: The Blacksmith Date Night is a very interactive class that involves significant physical activity. If this sounds like your idea for a great experience, we promise you an evening that you will remember for years to come!
